Chanovice is located at the heart of one of Europe’s largest forested areas, the Bavarian-Bohemian forest. The quality of raw material is unique: In hardly any other region, spruce wood has such a high density as here.
100% processing
As unique site of the Pfeifer Group, Chanovice is able to process up to six metres high round timber. Also unique at Pfeifer: The complete round timber range can be processed according to diverse cut techniques from the smallest to the largest diameter (up to 100 cm).
At this fully integrated production site, the delivered round timber is processed 100% into a diverse product range. In sawn timber, solid wood panels, shuttering panels, green power and wood pellets.

Timber as an opportunity
In Chanovice, the chance of forest wealth has been recognized and a small saw mill has been put into operation. At the same time begins the production of prefabricated houses.
1998
New successful product
For the first time the production of three-ply panels is introduced.
2006
Wide product range
The construction of a new saw mill goes hand in hand with the production start of glue-laminated timber and pellets.
2009
Success receipt KVH
Construction solid timber is introduced in the product range and a new access way is created.
2010
Investment in technology leadership
A new planing plant is put into operation, as well as a new sorting plant.
In 2016
New company roof
The Pfeifer Group takes over the Chanovice site and announces the investment of 35 millions Euro. For 470 employees this means a long term secure workplace.
2013
Step in the closed

The biomass power plant is lighted for the first time.

The new construction of the shuttering panel production is taken care of and implemented.

Pellets are on trend
The pellet production is optimised and thus the annual production capacity increases to 140,000 tons.
